ShowreelThe video below is a showreel I made in January 2008 that demonstrates my capabilities in 3D animation. The software I use includes 3DS Max9, Adobe Premiere CS3, Adobe After Effects PS3, Swift 3D, Vray and Mental Ray. Although the majority of the work I have done has been mainly either product or architecture based, the skills are readily transferrable to other industries. National Amusements' Showcase Cinema flythruInspired Gaming GroupNational Amuesments (MTV, Nickelodeon, Showcase Cinemas etc) approached Inspired Gaming Group to see if we could increase footfall and dwell time in the foyer of one of their flagship cinemas in Bluewater shopping center. I modelled, animated and produced a 3D flythrough of the cinema foyer showing how this might be achieved. The first stage involved planning the layout of the area and locating INGG terminals around the vast space. We divided the area up in to distinct zones: Nickelodeon zone for children, MTV zone for music lovers, Premiere Lounge for priviliged customers and a competition zone for those wanting to to try their luck at winning great prizes. I then produced a storyboard for the film, planning the shots that would be shown in the animation and the path of the camera. The next stage was to create the animation. This was the biggest animation I had produced to date and since no one else in the company used 3DS Max I was on my own. I set up a render farm of 6 computers and used Autodesk Backburner to control the rendering. I composited the rendered frames in Adobe Premier. The music is DJ Shadow - Giving Up The Ghost. |

Coca-Cola vending machine designsInspired Gaming GroupI produced several animations of vending machines for Coca-Cola during my time at Inspired. Some are cocept designs that I pitched to them and others are of modified machines to demonstrate how the end-result would look. |

Coin dropInspired Gaming GroupI created an animation of one pound coins filling up a paybowl on an AWP terminal whilst at Inspired Gaming Group. I used the reactor plugin in 3DS Max to simulate the collisions. |
